During my MA I started a project about seaside industry in the UK, beginning with these photos I made around Felixstowe, where heavy industry and tourism coexist. The project took a very different direction when I realised I could see more of these sites via Google Earth than I could in person, and eventually my research expanded and led to my artist’s book A Holiday in Utopia. Most of my MA projects developed in this way, starting with one thing and ending up with something very different.
